Chan, Ngok, and Fong address the dearth of comparative studies on carers' policies in Asia by analysing rapid socio-economic changes and rising caregiving demands in six East Asian societies, including China, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and Hong Kong.

The book examines the initiatives to support family carers and assess their impact.
